In 2019, The Railway Opera was presented. I created a multi-channel immersive sound installation composed of sounds and noise, installed in the museum’s Stolypin carriage. The Gulag History Museum and the Museum of the Occupation supported the realization of this work.

The sound installation inside the “Stolypin car”—a railroad carriage originally used in the 1910s to transport migrants to Siberia as part of the Stolypin reforms, and later, during the Stalin era, for the transportation of political prisoners and the forced deportation of entire peoples—is woven from “voices of the past”: diaries and memoirs of eyewitnesses to forced relocation.
